Senior Account Manager

The Senior Account Manager serves as the primary contact for the client and successfully manages specific client relationships, while overseeing the team’s daily activities and projects. To be successful, the Senior Account Manager will need proactive PR expertise and experience in an integrated communications B2B environment. This role is a pivotal one focusing on developing client relationships, managing social media activity, writing compelling releases and providing support and direction to the account team. Key Responsibilities

Client relations

  • Work as part of an account team to develop and execute integrated communications strategies, including public relations, marketing, digital and social media initiatives
  • Develop meaningful relationships with clients and become recognized as main point of contact
  • Identify client’s short- and long-term goals, translating strategic objectives into traditional and online public relations tactics, marketing programs, and social media campaigns
  • Identify key messages and audiences based on each client’s business priorities
  • Keep abreast of market trends and corresponding opportunities for clients
  • Identify and help drive opportunities for new business
  • Draft client proposals; obtain approval prior to initiating work
  • Record time worked on a daily basis
  • Other tasks as needed for successful project completion

Media relations

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with appropriate members of the media to facilitate advantageous placement of articles and releases
  • Review and ensure consistent messaging on bylined articles, case studies, etc.
  • Respond to media inquiries, develop media lists, pitch stories, identify editorial calendar opportunities, etc.
  • Stay abreast of social media tools, platforms and trends, and provide recommendations to improve social media campaigns
  • Write and edit effectively for various media outlets as required

Team support

  • Manage team resources to meet client commitments
  • Meet multiple and concurrent deadlines, individually and for any team members
  • Manage budgets effectively
  • Facilitate and participate in meetings with design and digital teams to brainstorm and determine direction
  • Ensure supervisors are kept fully informed regarding activities and plans for support staff and clients
  • Proofread and edit regular client reports and attend client meetings
  • Lead by example, and train and mentor junior staff
  • Attend networking events, seminars and conference in order to maintain personal and professional development

Requirements

  • At least 5 years in years experience in a PR agency, ideally with a B2B focus
  • Bachelors Degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or related field
  • Current knowledge of healthcare environment and healthcare technology with the ability to speak and write intelligently on these topics
  • 1-2 years of leadership and/or account management experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of social media platforms
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to quickly grasp new technologies and account duties
  • Outgoing personality; ability to effectively interact with team members
  • Highly motivated, highly organized
  • Proactive attitude
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed
  • Willingness and ability to travel occasionally
