Word of the week: Twitter Card
Twitter Cards allow social media users to attach a variety of multimedia elements, such as photos, website summaries, product information and video or audio players, underneath a 140-character tweet. Using Twitter cards can encourage higher engagement with followers and help drive them to a specific website. In addition, Twitter cards provide another level of insight, providing analytics on metrics like impressions, URL clicks, influencers and card type performance.
There are currently seven different types of Twitter cards available to users. Implementation requires adding a few lines of HTML to the desired webpages or, for popular CMS systems like WordPress, the installation of a plugin.
