TweetMeme – This is an online service that aggregates all of the links on Twitter to determine which links are the most popular. The service then categorizes the links into categories, subcategories and channels to make it easier for users to find links that are of interest to them. The company that runs TweetMeme created a “TweetMeme Button,” which allows readers to retweet the story or blog that they are reading without having to do much beyond click on the icon. This button posts the title of the story or page and a shortened URL to the user’s Twitter page and provides a tweet count for the story. In addition, TweetMeme has an analytics application that allows users to know how their content is being spread, how it compares to competitors and how to improve their efforts in the future. Consistently one of the top retweeted Twitter accounts right now, TweetMeme is providing a new way to spread news and provides a unique service that allows marketers to know what is popular online at any given moment.
