We’ve all heard of the popularized term smartphone, but have you heard about SmarHeart? SmartHeart works with a heart monitor harness that wirelessly transmits information to a smartphone, enabling anyone to receive an EKG anywhere. By now we are all well aware that we are deep in the midst of the mHealth revolution, and the SmartHeart app only further progresses this notion. SmartHeart, and other health apps similar to it, not only help physicians by keeping them informed on patient matters, but they also empower the patient to improve their lives. mhealth apps have the potential to decrease the cost of healthcare altogether, and with an app like SmartHeart, a life saving device that can prevent heart attacks, it’s clear the mhealth revolution will only continue to enable more continuous care.
