Word of the week: marketing qualified lead

By Word of the Week on September 4th, 2015

A marketing qualified lead (MQL) can be defined as a “lead of interest”. A prospect is considered a MQL if he/she has expressed initial interest in a service or offering, such as downloading a white paper or attending a webinar. These leads fit certain grading and scoring criteria established by the marketing team that make a sales conversion more likely. Once the lead is determined “marketing qualified”, it will be handed off to the sales team to move the prospect further along in the buyer’s journey.
