Word of the week: Google authorship

Word of the week: Google authorship

By Word of the Week on May 2nd, 2014

Google authorship is a tool created by Google that allows writers to claim their content. In addition, writers can be found easily via search engine. Another benefit of Google authorship is that it gives the opportunity to get higher click-through rates as a result of the authorship markup applied in search results. In an effort to increase the click-through rate to posts with the best quality, Google reduced authorship snippets by 15 percent in the end of 2013, thereby increasing competition and demanding the highest quality of content by showing only authors with quality content. Reputation and trustworthiness of authors determine which content will be published.
