Word of the week: Content calendar

By Word of the Week on November 14th, 2014

A content calendar is a resource used by content marketing and social media teams to plan blog posts, social posts, email sends and other content-related endeavors. Content calendars provide several benefits for marketing teams. Much like editorial calendars, content calendars can be used to plan themes around specific topics or ideas. They also create individual and collective responsibility; content calendars can detail publish dates, authors, editors and ensure that company content is being written, reviewed and posted in a systematic manner. Many content calendars start as simple Excel spreadsheets, labeled with topic, keyword(s), author, publish date and supporting activities.
