Word of the week: Basecamp
Basecamp is a project management tool that allows companies and departments to keep track of campaigns, the tasks associated to each campaign individually, assign to-do’s to specific users and place documents related to those campaigns in one easy to access location. The interface provides a variety of different views for users. A ‘table of contents’ of sorts for all campaigns running appears upon logging in. Drilling down into specific campaigns will show the discussions taking place, who is assigned what tasks, when tasks are due and any documents that are uploaded in reference. A calendar feature shows scheduled to-dos, the ability to mark off completed tasks, and a view of how all campaigns look over time in one place. Another very helpful feature is a progress timeline. The timeline displays all interactions on the basecamp account in one easy-to-read format. Using a project management tool, like Basecamp, is a great way to stay on top of several campaigns running at one time. It creates a sense of accountability due to the fact every request, due date and document is located in one location. Email notifications are sent every time someone takes an activity within the account as to stay aware of changes occurring. Overall, by instating a sense of accountability and empowering teams to delegate tasks and effectively reach due dates, Basecamp helps to make campaigns run more smoothly and efficiently.
