Word of the week: Adwords auction
The ad auction is the process Google uses to determine which ads appear in what order during a search. Whenever a relevant search phrase is initiated, all eligible ads go through the ad auction and the searcher is shown only results with a high enough Ad Rank. The Ad Rank, the result of multiplying the cost-per-click-bid by the quality score, assigns a value to the ads and places them in corresponding order.
To maximize the chance your ads are displayed on the first search engine results page, make sure you’re choosing quality, targeted keywords with ads that link to highly relevant landing pages.
